At Asia Future Trading, we classify clients according to regulatory requirements to ensure an appropriate level of protection and services. Clients are generally categorized as Retail Clients or Professional Clients.
Retail Clients
A retail client is a client who does not meet the criteria for classification as a professional client. Unless otherwise notified by the Company, or if the client applies and the Company completes an assessment and confirms that they meet the relevant criteria, all clients are by default classified as retail clients. Retail clients enjoy the highest level of regulatory protection.
Professional Clients
A professional client is a client who meets the prescribed standards according to regulatory requirements. They are generally considered to possess sufficient knowledge and experience to make their own investment decisions and understand the risks involved.
Eligibility Criteria for Professional Clients
The following clients will be considered professional clients:
Regulated Entities: Entities authorized or regulated by relevant authorities to conduct business in financial markets (e.g., credit institutions, investment firms, insurance companies, pension funds, etc.).
Large Enterprises: Entities meeting at least two of the following conditions:
Total balance sheet of at least USD 20 million;
Net turnover of at least USD 40 million;
Own funds of at least USD 2 million.
Governments and Public Authorities: Including public bodies managing public finances and debt, and licensed financial institutions.
Other Institutional Investors: Entities whose primary activity is investing in financial instruments.
High Net Worth Individuals: Individuals meeting specific net asset and professional knowledge requirements.
Assessment for Individual Professional Clients
For individuals applying to be classified as professional clients, the Company will conduct a rigorous assessment. The basic requirement is net assets of at least USD 1 million (excluding primary residence and legal tender).
Assessment factors include:
Knowledge and understanding of financial markets, products, and risks;
Duration of participation in financial markets, trading frequency, and reliance on professional advice;
Scale and nature of transactions;
Relevant professional qualifications and portfolio size.
