In MetaTrader 5, the default chart only displays the Bid line, and the Ask line is not shown by default. If you need to view the Ask line on your chart, you can set it up using the following steps.

1. Enable Ask Line via Chart Properties

  1. Open any chart window

  2. Right-click on an empty area of the chart, then select Properties

  3. In the pop-up window, go to the Common tab

  4. Check "Show Ask line"

  5. Click OK

The Ask line will now appear on the chart, typically as a red dashed line.

2. Enable Ask Line via Menu

  1. Select the chart you want to modify

  2. Click Charts > Properties in the top menu bar, or press F8

  3. Switch to the Common tab in the pop-up window

  4. Check "Show Ask line"

  5. Click OK

3. Meaning of Ask and Bid Lines

  • Ask line: shows the execution price for long (buy) orders;

  • Bid line: shows the execution price for short (sell) orders.

Displaying both Ask and Bid lines on the chart helps you clearly understand price movements and accurately determine entry and exit points.

4. Supported Platforms

  • ✅ MetaTrader 5 (Desktop)

  • ❌ MetaTrader Mobile (iOS/Android) does not yet support showing the Ask line.
